Emma Watson makes it easy for us to like her- we’ve watched her growing up through the lens of the Harry Potter movies, she supports worthwhile projects like People Tree and she seems immune to the kind of teenage diva nonsense that we’ve seen from others.
Here’s a photo of the drastic haircut-
It’s reminiscent of the Seberg cut. And I’m sure it must have felt very liberating to chop it all off. But those about the nicest things I can come up with, well that and it’ll grow back. Sorry, I’m not a fan of this cut, it’s way too drastic. I think it looks good in this photo with the eyemakeup all done to balance it out, but for everyday, it’s just not that wonderful.
Anne Hathaway was spotted in Paris in late August sporting a cropped, boyish style on the set of the film “One Day”.
But it’s just a wig! I personally love this look on her. We’re more used to seeing her in “glamathon” mode-
But I prefer her look with a shorter hairstyle like this-
She’s one beautiful lady, but with such large features it sometimes feels a bit too much when she’s got the big make-up, the big features and then the big hair. SO when she keeps a little shorter like the style from January 2009 I think it suits her better.
Hayden Panettiere is one of those multi-talented stars we love to love. Even with the cancellation of the show that really put her in the spotlight (Heroes) she is going from strength to strength.
She recently cut her hair and revealed a gorgeous little bob.
With her face shape it’s no wonder she rocks this style. Here’s another look at that bob.
In the past she has worn her hair in a glamorous up-do, like this one at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards in 2009.
Although it’s not quite the same thing as going for “the chop”, if you’re thinking about have a serious change to your hair then it’s a good idea to experiment with up-do’s first. You may well find that keepingyour long tresses and wearing up-do’s is a great compromise. Here’s another up-do from Ms. P where she wears it semi-loose but swept back- it can be a severe look, but be keeping a little more volume at the front and top you can give the look a softer edge.
Finally, one of her severest looks, this one is from CMT Music Awards of June 2010.
Wow, New Moon isn’t even released yet and the pictures are everywhere! OK so I have to admit I liked the Twilight books and film- but then anything vampire-related basically gets my attention, I named my dog Buffy if that tells you anything!
One of the most eye-catching parts of Twilight was Ashley Greene and that hair.
Sure it was a wig, but when shopping around for new hair ideas it’s just as valid to get idea from a wig as anything.
Especially when it’s a super-perky as this:
Well if you’re a fan, only 22 days to go…!
PS Watch out for this month’s InStyle which features this stylish star in their 60 seconds of style.
Another actress who particularly suits shorts styles is Meg Ryan- what a great head of hear she has! In recent years she has been wearing it long but if we look back a few years then we’ll get to some of her best short styles moments.
My favourite of her short styles is without a doubt in the movie “French Kiss” with Kevin Kline, in 1995
Here’s a black and white still from the movie:
It’s like the perfect short hair- the only drawback is that behind that effortless look like a lot of blow drying…
Moving on to a couple of years later, in 1997 she’s wearing it as a short and snappy bob- love this cut!
A year later in ’98 it’s pretty much the same fabulous cut:
By December of 1998 it’s a longer, shaggier looking bob:
And a couple of years later in December of 2002 it’s gone back to a shorter and cuter bob.
Here’s a clip of that sassy French Kiss do:
After that the hair grew longer and Meg’s appearance got quite a bit more Hollywood. For me, her best hair was the mid 90′s. What about for you?
Halle Berry has great hair and has had a huge number of different hairstyles over the years, let’s take a look at the best of her short styles.
In March 2002 this is my favourite Halle style, she looks so sleek and feminine.
Same month, different awards ceremony and there’s that great cut again.
In October 2002 she has grown it out a little.
November 2002 for the role as a Bond girl.
Here’s a clip of that Ursula-esque exit from the water:
2009
Halle had her hair longer for a few years between 2002 and 2009, here we catch up again with her in February of 2009 where she has a short style with a little more length, especially at the front. Short styles are so versatile, there are infinite ways to change your look in an instant.
At the X-Men premiere she has added some toffee coloured highlights.
By May of this year she’s back to a gamine crop and looking fabulous.
October of this year sees Halle going strong with the sharp and sleek short style and looking like she hasn’t aged a day in the last decade. How does she do it?
