The only time I really have had a short hair cut was when I was little. Right now I have medium to long hair and I am actually considering trying out a shorter cut. I would love to try it and see how it looks. But I also am scared of how it could turn out badly and then how long it would take to grow out. And I don’t feel like waiting. I have a hair appointment tomorrow and I want something new.

It really depends on your facial structure.
I think longer faces aren’t supposed to look too wonderful with shorter hairstyles.
But it also depends on what kind of style/cut you get.

omg i have like the exact same problem! i say go for it! hair is hair and it will always grow back. my friend has had really long hair since forever and a couple of months ago she did lock of love and cut it all off. it looked amazing! it couldnt have looked better. short styles are inn right now i say go for it. i might too!
well it depends on the type of face you have and hair round heads should have sholder or longer legnth heair as for oval anything realy.
Until you actually decide that you want shorter hair,go for a cut that’s only a bit shorter,& next cut you can decide to go shorter or let it grow back.Hair grows approx.1/2″ a month..LOL
omg i am going to the get hair cut tomorrow to and i was just thinking the same thing cuz i have the same type of hair and i was gonna get it short cut to but that is the same problem im having. what i was thinking of doing is going to the hair place and showing them a picture of how i want it and to ask them wat would it look like on me and if they say something that i don’t like then i would just ask for a trim but i hope it all goes good for u and im hoping for myself. =]
Depending on your face shape and body proportions and your personality your hair will reflect how you see yourself.
I always said ,”the difference between a good hair cut and a bad hair cut is about three weeks.”If you want to try something different”DO IT’ You might have the next fifty years to do it again, or not do it.
The only way you can tell if a short cuz will look good on you is to evaluate your face shape. I recommend looking for pics of celebs w/ the same face shape as you and see what hair cuts look good on them. your hairstylist tomorrow will be able to give you good honest recommendations. well, i don’t really know how short you’re going for, but try this:
make a very loose pony tail at the base of your neck. start out with about four inches of hair between your head and the hair band. (if your hair’s shorter, maybe leave a little bit less room, or if you think that you’d want your hair cut a little longer, leave a little bit more room.) then, pull the entire pony tail up so the slack folds. it’s kinda hard to explain, but your hair just kinda folds and it looks like you have a shorter hair cut. by pulling the hair band away from your scalp, it makes your hair look longer and by pushing it closer, it makes your hair looks shorter when you bend it.

Last time i tryed it it didn’t look to good. actully i cried. Really pay attention to your face structure. Also make sure you tell your stylist exactly what you want otherwise you might end up getting shorter than you planned. you might want to consider starting long and get shorter and shorter, you might feel better that way.

Tell your stylist to make sure she keeps your face shape. In mind when cutting your hair. This way no matter what the hair style. She can adjust the cut to fit your face. With longer faces you would need some longer layers to short hair style. Good stylist should understand. Ex: Rihanna and Posh have the same hair cut . But Rihanna’s face is heart shaped and Posh face is more Oval. Rihanna has some choppy longer layers, around the front of her cut.
