How to Style straight short hair?

im a 16 year old male and i have really straight hair, when it grows out to be long it looks like a bowl cut, so i keep it short. any suggestions for a way to gel my hair, when i gel it now it just sticks up straight

If its shorter you could style it as a faux-hawk style, thats pretty cool.
You can also just add some gel to your hair, then create a messy look, this look is a big
hit among the teen guys at my school,
Or you could make it straight and simple, maybe have the back spiked up some,
and keep the front straighter.

Bowl cut!! Lolz, takes me back to elementary school…the cutest guy in the 6th grade had a pudding bowl cut….*sigh*….
