I have been geling my hair for years and Ive never been happy with it. It usually poofs or frizzes up if I dont use gel, and when I use hair gel it still frizzes a little and becomes hard and shiny and still doesn’t look good. Ive used a lot of different hair products and they all have the same effect on my hair, what would i have to do to get the sides of my hair to go straight down without making them look gel’d? here are some pictures of what id like

those are just some pics of men whos hair on the sides of their head is slicked down but dosent look gel’d, how can i make my hair like that?

use pomade, wax, or paste. they all usually have a matte finish (not shiney) and they dont get all hard and flakey and weird like gel. they have strong hold but are still really flexible and touchable.

use hair wax or this stuff, it els your hair but it doesn’t shine or look greasy-

what there using is hair wax or paste surf hair from garnier is something like that you can even get something stronger than that also a blow dryer help but most guy dont use one but the wax or paste works better on dry hair and they have men product also if you dont want to smell fruity it much better than gel redken for men is a great product line but cost a bit more money you can get this at salons or online
also a good hair to help those style because those styles u choose arent easy to achive but try the products first
just put the gel or wutever it is that u use in ur hair after it dries.
i know that all gels tell u to put it in when ur hair is damp, but if u put it in while its dry it won’t get hard and shiny, it will look more natural. don’t wait too long after showering tho, as soon as ur hair is starting to dry, put the gel in then
